The 2021 edition of the International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) awarded 3,460 wines, of which only 148 deserved a gold medal.
Italy saw seven winning sparkling wines: a Franciacorta, a Brut 2014 by Lo Sparviere and, surprisingly, a Concerto Lambrusco Dry 2020 by Medici Ermete. There were four Prosecco bottlings: 2019, Duca di Dolle Società Agricola, 100% Extra Dry; Tenuta di Collalbrigo, Non Vintage, Extra Dry NV; Conte Collalto, Octavian Sui Leviticus Zero Dosage Brut Naturale and Collalto’s San Salvatore Brut Millesimato Prosecco DOCG 2020. Great satisfaction for Uva Sapiens for the important awards to Conte Collalto.
