Mattia Filippi signs Colomba Bianca’s Resilience

Created to valorize the historical varieties of the Sicilian oenological tradition, the Resilience line originates from the concept of resilience in the vineyard, where the autochthonous Perricone and Lucido (better known as Catarratto), in particular, are the protagonists of a specific recovery and valorization project by Colomba Bianca: the ‘Vigne Vecchie’ project. In this context, the winery focuses on the preservation of a number of historical vineyards of medium-high age (up to fifty years), in which the vines have undergone an important process of adaptation to their habitat.
The result is small productions, but with excellent quality potential. The indigenous Lucido, Grillo, Insolia, Nero D’Avola and Perricone varieties, in particular, have given rise to fresh, lively wines that are a faithful and authentic expression of the main varieties of Sicily’s ampelographic heritage.
